A Malaysian Working in Taiwan: Ample Opportunities & High Remuneration
In this issue, we interviewed Ho Jin Ming from Malaysia, a graduate who majored in the Department of Radio, Television, and Film at Shih Hsin University. Having spent a decade in Taiwan, he previously served as an English editor for three years and currently works as an SEO copywriter.
Jin Ming mentioned several factors that influenced him to stay and work in Taiwan. First, he highlighted excellent job prospects and Taiwan’s comparatively high salary level when compared with Malaysia for the same position. Second, he views Taiwan as having more job opportunities and avenues for career development. Last but not least, his experience as a host on a radio program allowed him to further engage with Taiwanese people and society. In his opinion, Taiwan is one of the safest and most convenient places to live in the world.
While Jin Ming was working as an editor, he completed the TEFL program to make him more competitive in the local job market. His advice for those looking for jobs in Taiwan is to engage in self-study with free online resources. Additionally, he recommends the job matchmaking platform Contact TAIWAN, to help job seekers find opportunities. At the end of the interview, Jin Ming said that he would spend another decade here, exploring Taiwan's natural beauty in different ways.
