Suncue Company was founded in 1966, and developed Taiwan’s first grain dryer with the intent to help farmers prevent sprouting and mold during the rainy season. Today, Suncue offers a comprehensive product line and exports to more than 60 countries, including Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and Central and South America.
Committed to global expansion, Suncue places great importance on human resources and actively recruits professionals with diverse strengths. Since 2023, Suncue has participated in Contact TAIWAN’s One-on-One Employment Meeting and the 2024 Taiwan Talent Recruiting Mission to Thailand to attract more global talents and enhance its international competitiveness.
Originally from Philippines, Michael came to Taiwan to work in machine assembly and as a coordinator for Vietnamese and Filipino workers. At the same time, he spent his weekend volunteering at the Tanzih Catholic Church. He was deeply drawn to Taiwan’s culture, friendly people, safe environment, and comfortable lifestyle. He later enrolled in the two-year Chinese language program at the Chinese Language Education Center at Providence University and completed a bachelor’s degree in International Business.
Michael first learned about Contact Taiwan through a human resource management course in college. After exploring the platform, Michael registered as a talent member right away. Driven by strong curiously and long-term career aspirations, he joined Contact TAIWAN’s One-on-One Job-Matching event in Taichung, hoping to connect with local companies.
In December 2024, Michael received an invitation mail from Suncue. However, he chose to complete his studies first. “We will reserve the position for you until you graduate,” Suncue replied. This response moved and encouraged Michael deeply, creating a sense of trust between him and the company. After graduating in Jun 2025, he decided to join Suncue and officially began his career in Taiwan.
Michael shared that language proficiency is the key for long-term career development. Although he can manage daily conversations in Chinese, he still finds business and professional communication challenging. To improve, he actively reviews what he has learned in his spare time and successfully obtained an A2-level Chinese proficiency certification.
Michael’s story highlights Taiwan’s diverse opportunities for international talent—from cultural immersion and language learning to lifestyle and career growth—serving as inspiration for those who wish to build their future in Taiwan.
