Syeda, an extraordinary professional talent from Pakistan, first learned about Taiwan through an international internship program. She became deeply interested in Taiwan’s education system and technology research environment. Later, she received a full scholarship through the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP), which strengthened her decision to pursue advanced studies in Taiwan.
As a global semiconductor leader, Taiwan's high-quality research facilities and collaborative research environment made it an ideal place for Syeda to complete her PhD. Taiwan's convenient transportation system and the supportive policies of the Employment Gold Card encouraged her to stay and further develop her career in Taiwan.
Discovering Contact TAIWAN through social media, Syeda signed up for the One-on-one Employment Meeting. Although she was not initially selected for a formal interview, she successfully secured a waitlist opportunity and was able to meet with HR representatives later. As a result, she decided to joined ACME Electronics Corporation as a senior supervisor in the R&D division.
Syeda noticed that Taiwanese workplaces strongly emphasize teamwork, efficiency and quality standard. One of her main challenges was adapting different work expectations and communication styles, she overcomes by observing carefully, maintaining an open and respectful mindset, and continuously improving her cross-cultural leadership skills.
In 2025, Contact TAIWAN invited Syeda to speak at a career seminar at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. She shared her life and career experiences in Taiwan, drawing in lots of international students who listened with great interest and maintained contact with her afterwards.
Syeda is deeply grateful for the opportunities provided by Contact TAIWAN. She believes the platform serves as an important bridge between international professionals and Taiwan’s growing industries.
